Children  have access to a good range of activities that build upon their interests and ensure that they are challenged in their learning.

Staff are particularly skilled at supporting children’s developing language and communication skills.

Staff change their approach appropriately according to children’s age and stage of development.

For example, those working with the very young talk to the children about what they are doing so that they continually hear language. Staff use repetition well to support their growing vocabulary.

Older children are well supported to be ready for school At The Grosvenor.

They learn how to listen, concentrate and take turns.

They are taught to read simple words such as their names and to understand the sounds that letters represent.

They quickly develop control in using pens and pencils and are learning how to form letters.

Younger children are supported to develop a strong sense of belonging.

Children are cared for in a bright and welcoming environment.

We teach children in the setting to have clear understanding of behavioral expectations.

Children are taught how to show care and concern.

Our Staff working with babies are particularly responsive to their needs. For example, they quickly recognise when they are tired and take time to cuddle and settle babies to sleep helping them to feel safe and secure.

Leaders and staff work closely with parents who feel well informed about how their child is doing through observation

Nursery Garden

The nursery garden is conveniently located next to the church across Grosvenor Place road (quiet dead end road). With the garden being across the small road it gives the children a great sense of road safety which is enforced every time they go to and from the garden which is for an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon. The garden has been laid with safety rubber matting so bumps and trips are minimised (as much as possible with children) We have a mud pit and sand pit, stepping stones, low flower beds for home growing vegetables and flowers, tyres, push along, bikes and of course our famous nursery pet rabbit Hugs who has free range of the garden… He is very friendly, clever and gentle. To see photos of the garden please click on ‘have a look around”.

Your children’s education and wellfare are our main priorities
